Biewer Terrier Puppies

They are a happy go lucky breed who love showing and receiving love from their owners. They are dedicated and loyal to their family, and do well with strangers. They love being the center of attention as much as possible.

Biewer Terriers are extremely healthy, but they can have sensitive GI systems. This can lead to the occasional soft or discolored stool. It is also recommended that breeders run a patella evaluation and a super chem-cast blood test.

Biewer Terriers are laid back, but do need to be mentally and physically stimulated to stay happy. They are great at using their playful energy to self-exercise, and love playtime with their family. They love games like hide and seek and learning new tricks.

The amount of grooming a Biewer Terrier requires depends on how long you keep their coat. If you decide to let their silky coat grow out, it will require daily brushing to prevent tangling. If you choose to keep their coat short minimal grooming is required.

Biewer Terriers shed very little despite having long, silky coats. This hypoallergenic breed is a great choice for people with allergies.

Biewer Terrier's tri-color coat features white, black, and rust colorings. Their silky fur does not shed, but needs to be brushed daily to maintain its health. Their ears are typically cropped, but doing this for aesthetic purposes is declining in popularity.

The Biewer Terrier breed was stumbled upon by Mr. and Mrs. Biewer, passionate Yorkshire Terrier breeders. In 1984 a Yorkshire Terrier was born with black, white, and tan colorings, the result of having a recessive piebald gene. The breed was rare, but in 2000 they made their way to America where they became very popular.
