  • History

This breed is known as royalty, and were very commonly used as lap dogs to higher members of the community in the old days of Madagascar. They're known to live for many years, and were probably kept royally due to their luscious fur and long lifespans. They're also very loyal and loving towards their masters, which makes them the ideal pet for most families large or small.Normal citizens on the island weren't allowed to own these dogs as laws were placed by the royals out of spite and jealousy. These dogs were nearly worshipped as gods and were held to an extremely high standard by everyone they came across. They say that these dogs came into existence when a group of dogs were shipwrecked off a boat near Madagascar. They apparently swam to shore where they mated with feral dogs across the island, creating the breed as we know them today.
