Frug Puppies

The Frug is a happy and affectionate breed that has a big personality. They love to socialize and be around people, whether that is playtime, cuddles, or following you around your home. They thrive on affection so the more cuddles, the happier they’ll be! Frugs can be difficult to train; they need consistent training to be well-behaved. They do love to please you, so this will help.

Frenchie Pugs can be susceptible to pulmonic stenosis, portosystemic shunt, entropion, and brachycephalic syndrome because of their flat faces.

Frugs only need around 30 minutes of exercise in a day, which can be short walks or playtime. They enjoy spending time with their family whether it's playtime or lounging on the couch. Frugs are sensitive to heat so it's important to make sure they don’t become overheated on warm days.

Frugs have a short coat that should be brushed weekly. They may have wrinkly skin which will result in skin folds that should be cleaned and dried regularly. Their ears should be checked to keep them clean and their nails trimmed every month. A monthly bath, or a bath when dirty, will keep your Frenchie Pug clean.

Frenchie Pugs, like their parent breeds, shed moderately. They are not hypoallergenic.

Frugs will often look like Pugs with the bat ears of the Frenchie. Some may, however, have pricked ears like the Pug. Often, they will have a black mask like the Pug. They have a smooth and fine coat that is short in length. They can be black, brindle, cream, fawn, white or a combination of those colors.

The Frenchie Pug likely originated in the 1990s when designer breeds became popular. They are a hybrid of a French Bulldog and a Pug. They are recognized by the Designer Dogs Kennel Club (DDKC), American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC), and other designer clubs.
