Cavachons are moderately active, but also make great snuggle buddies. In most cases, a long daily walk will be enough exercise for a Cavachon, but daily playtime sessions are also encouraged.

Despite hardly shedding, Cavachons need to be groomed regularly to look and feel their best. Regular brushings are essential to prevent matting and tangling. Some Cavachons need to be trimmed occasionally, and they should only be bathed when absolutely necessary.

The goal in breeding these two dogs was to combine the best traits of the Cavalier King Charles and Bichon Frise into one lovable companion dog. The result was the Cavachon, and the breed quickly became more popular and in-demand. Today, the Cavachon is recognized by the American Canine Association (ACA), the American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC), and multiple other dog clubs for designer and hybrid breeds.
